Guided Journaling

A seven-step, simple process created by Joy.

Journal Process

Listening to Live Music while writing

Scribble, draw, color... away as you listen to beautiful music performed by Joy E Laine. - Originals and more on piano, harp, and sung by Joy E Laine. Joy will play sad songs and more.

Private Writing to Grieve ANYTHING

No sharing out loud.

Everything you write stays private to you!

You can write out ANYTHING!!

Grief can occur from something physical, psychological, spiritual, or even interpersonal life.

A loss could relate to relationships, health, financial stability, a combination of anything mentioned and/or more.

Joy E Laine is a lay person in the field of counseling/healing and does not claim to have a degree in psychology or related fields.

Why is "IT'S TIME Guided Journaling with Joy" for me?

I need to take time out for me.

I work in a field that does not always allow me a chance to process everything I see and hear.

I'm not ready for groups that share out loud, but I need to get my thoughts and feelings out.

I don't want to just "scribble away" the whole time and this process allows me to write, draw, color, or just listen.

I don't want to have to sit the entire time,

so I'm glad we can move around, come and go - do whatever I'm ready to do this time, for when it really is the "time and place" for me.

I can't find a group specific to my grief and these events are for everyone.

I know I could write things out on my own, but this gives me guidance and a specific time and place to do that - so then, I know I will set the time aside to do it.

I need privacy, but not feel alone and these events provide both.

Listening to music can have a healing affect on me.

About

Singer, Songwriter, Musician, Performer, & Teacher

Bachelor's Degree in Music Ministry

Voice: At five years old, I started singing for church, as is common among performing musicians, while my oldest sister accompanied on the piano.  Growing up, I sang in many choirs. I began private voice lessons around age 12. My mom sang, so I learned stage presence before I learned social skills.

Flute:

Voice: At five years old, I started singing for church, as is common among performing musicians, while my oldest sister accompanied on the piano.  Growing up, I sang in many choirs. I began private voice lessons around age 12. My mom sang, so I learned stage presence before I learned social skills.

Flute:  Flute lessons, from my dad,  started around age 5. I played in the grade-school and junior high bands.

Piano:  Piano lessons began at age 7. I have fond memories of sharing the piano bench with that sweet teacher.

Clarinet:  The high school did not need any more flute players, so I took up the clarinet for marching band.

I wanted to look and act like my beautiful, talented oldest sister, so I chose to direct the band and accompany the choirs like she had done instead of singing.

Harp:  As an adult, I taught myself the harp from a teach-yourself book on a small 22-string harp that my youngest sister gave me.

Songwriting: Songwriting, also, started right around the age of five. Around the age of 10, I started writing poetry. In my high school years, I attended adult writing groups with my dad.

Performing/Acting: I feel much more comfortable on a stage performing than I do in a crowd, and have recently added acting to my list of accomplishments.

Dancing: I have a teaching certificate in ballroom dance, and have sung while performing ballroom dance.

Teaching: I have taught private music lessons since 1997,  and started teaching ballroom dance around 2018.
